With the morning air getting colder and the sun setting a little earlier each day, it's starting to feel like fall in the Pacific Northwest. Starbucks' Pumpkin Spice Lattes are back, kids are in school, and we're slowly trading in our long summer nights for cozy sweaters and pumpkin spice everything. Before we get too wrapped up in the new season, let's take a moment to look at what's been happening in our community and the real estate market.
Harbor Hounds is Back! š¾
Mark your calendars for Saturday, September 6th, from 10 am-3 pm at Skansie Park, because Harbor Hounds is one of the most beloved events in town! Every year, hundreds of dogs (and their people) come together for a day packed with fun, community, and plenty of tail-wagging.
This Rotary Club of Gig Harbor-sponsored event has it all:
š¶ Dog Contests (a crowd favorite)
š¶ Live DJ + entertainment
š Food trucks & vendors
š Raffles, games & scavenger hunts
š community dog walk & agility course
šØ Activities for kids, temporary tattoos, and more!
Thank You for Supporting Ali's Prom Project š
A huge thank you to everyone who participated in the Neighborhood Experts collaboration with Ali's Prom Project for the shoe drive! Your generous donations helped provide new shoes to students in need, making a real difference in our community and helping teens shine. We're so grateful for your support and for helping us make this project a huge success!
Our 4th Annual Back-to-School Mimosa Brunch š„
Before the fall routine takes full swing, join us for a toast to the new season!
šMorso, Gig Harbor
š Friday, September 5th | 9am-11am
Hosted by Paige Schulte, our 4th Annual Back-to-School Mimosa Brunch is a chance to gather with friends, enjoy a bubble mimosa (or two), and ease into the school year with a little celebration. It's become a favorite tradition, and we can't wait to see everyone there!
The Market Snapshot
Of course, no update would be complete without a quick look at how our local real estate market is doing as we step into fall.
The Gig Harbor market continues to show strength, with home prices holding steady after the busy summer season. As more listings hit the market, buyers are enjoying a few more choices, while sellers are still benefiting from solid demand and healthy price points. With interest rates expected to shift later this year, it's an important time to stay informed and think strategically about your next move.
Here's what we're seeing in Pierce County overall:
š” Active listings remain strong, giving buyers more options
š New listings are trending up, a sign of continued market activity
š¤ Pending and closed sales are steady, showing demand is still there.
All in all, we're heading into the fall with a balanced, dynamic market, and as always, we'll keep you updated as the numbers roll in.
From dog walks and raffles at Harbor Hounds, to sipping mimosas at Morso, to giving back through Ali's Prom Project, this September is packed with opportunities to connect, celebrate, and support our community.
And just like the market, Gig Harbor is full of energy right now. It's a good time to be here:)
